Ruby Red Lips was opened by me; Debra Schofield in January 2013. With a dream of having my own makeup studio I was keen to ensure that the main focus was on makeup and everything to do with it. This was rather than makeup being a small element in a hair or beauty salon. In the 5 years that Ruby Red Lips has been open, our popularity has grown week on week with word spreading quickly about the atmosphere, the uniqueness of the studio, the Artists but more importantly the makeup applications. The majority of our business comes through recommendations.
I have worked in the industry now for over 7 years, VTCT Level 3 qualified in Fashion and Photography makeup and have been tutored by one of the industry’s finest makeup artists at The North West Media Makeup School in Media City, Salford. After working for the world famous cosmetics brand “Bobbi Brown” I worked as a Freelance Artist but due to quick expansion and the demand - Ruby Red Lips was opened.
The very talented Lydia Morris has worked with me at Ruby Red Lips for almost 5 years too. Lydia is also qualified to Level 3 in Makeup and with her fantastic Artistry skills and her very warm welcoming nature she is a firm favourite with our regulars. Her eye for detail is exceptional. and she is an absolute perfectionist. Lydia has also worked in Bridal Makeup for the whole time that she has been at Ruby Red Lips. After a very successful 5 years being studio based, in December 2017 we decided to wrap up the shop at The Last Drop and become Freelance Makeup Artists, still working vey closely together, Lydia and I now focus on Bridal Makeup but we do still offer Special Occassion and Prom Makeup.
